    About the program

    A long-form cultural dialogue

Digital Encounters is a structured, multi-phase engagement between contemporary digital art practice and one of Mexico City’s most significant cultural sites. Produced by 8NAP ART and Superchief, it unfolds across five sequential waves of digital work, each featuring a cohort of participating artists.

The program culminates in a residency and public exhibition at Museo Anahuacalli beginning August 8, 2026 — Diego Rivera’s volcanic-stone monument to ancestral memory. The site is central to the curatorial premise.

    The site

    Why Anahuacalli

Built from volcanic stone in southern Mexico City, Museo Anahuacalli was conceived by Diego Rivera as a living vessel for ancestral memory.

Its symbolic and architectural context — housing one of Mexico’s most important collections of pre-Hispanic artifacts — makes it a rare and meaningful site for this kind of dialogue. The choice of venue is deliberate and central to the curatorial premise.
